How to immigrate to Japan with a work visa?
The basic conditions for applying for "permanent residency" are that the applicant must have lived in Japan for more than ten years and have been employed for five consecutive years. The applicant must prove to the authorities that he or she has no criminal record and submit proof of employment. The approval process can be completed within about half a year. But we usually travel to Japan, and we can stay for up to ninety days if we enter with a special administrative region passport. How can we live there for more than ten years?
One of these ways is a #JapanWorkVisa.
Find a Japanese employer
Finding a job in Japan is a prerequisite for applying for a work visa. Employers usually decide whether to hire you based on your professional skills, academic background and work experience.
Apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
Your employer needs to apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for you at the Immigration Bureau of Japan. Applications must include:
Application form, photocopy of applicant’s passport, education certificate, work experience certificate, employment contract, resume and Japanese language proficiency certificate (if applicable)
Apply for a visa at the Japanese embassy or consulate
After obtaining the COE, applicants need to submit a visa application to the Japanese embassy or consulate in their country, which usually requires:
Visa application form, passport, photo, original and photocopy of COE, and other documents that may be required (such as criminal record certificate, etc.)
Enter Japan and complete residence procedures
After the visa is approved, the applicant must enter Japan within the validity period of the visa and collect the Alien Registration Card at the airport or designated location. In addition, you will need to be enrolled in Japan's National Health Insurance or other medical insurance plans.
Renewal and Perpetual Application
Renewal: Renewal of a work visa usually requires an application in advance, and the applicant must provide an updated employment contract, proof of employment, and other information.
Permanent residence application: If you have lived in Japan continuously for 10 years (some visa types can be shortened to 3 years or 1 year) and meet certain conditions (such as tax payment record, no criminal record, etc.), you can apply for permanent residence.
An interview may be required during the application process and applicants are required to answer questions truthfully.
Some work visas allow you to bring family members, but they must meet certain conditions.
Through the above steps, you can gradually achieve your goal of immigrating to Japan through a work visa!
