Country Profile

El Salvador is located in North America, bordering Honduras and Guatemala in the northeast and northwest, the Pacific Ocean in the west and the Gulf of Fonseca in the southeast. With a large number of volcanoes, El Salvador is known as the ‘Land of Volcanoes’. The highest peak in the country is the active Santa Ana Volcano in the province of Santa Ana, which is 2,385 metres above sea level, with an average elevation of 650 metres above sea level. El Salvador has a tropical climate, with an average annual temperature of 28°C. The dry season is from November to April, and the rainy season is from May to October. The climate is warm and humid in the coastal and lowland areas, and fresh in the mountainous regions.

The Bitcoin Law came into effect on 7 September of the same year, making El Salvador the first country in the world to recognise and use Bitcoin for civil payments.

7. Spanish naturalisation springboard: You can apply for naturalisation if you have lived in Spain for two years with a Salvadoran passport.
