British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) is an immigration pathway designed to attract talented and experienced entrepreneurs from overseas to boost British Columbia's economy. BC Provincial Nominee applicants and their family members can submit a permanent residence application to the federal government of Canada and eventually obtain a Maple Leaf Card.

The BCPNP is divided into several main categories, including the Skilled Migrant EE Programme, the Skilled Migrant Traditional Programme and the Overseas Entrepreneur Immigration Programme, each with specific application requirements and processes.

  • Express Entry BC Stream

One of the most popular options is the Express Entry BC Stream (EE) programme for skilled migrants. This programme gives applicants an additional 600 points on the Canadian Express Entry, and most applicants need to have a job offer from a Canadian employer. applicants need to be eligible for both the BC Nominee and Federal Skilled Migrant or Local Work Experience categories, and must be in the Federal Express Entry pool before they can apply for the BC Provincial Nominee. B.C. Nominee.

  • Skills Immigration Stream

Another category of skilled immigration is the Skills Immigration Stream, which is divided into Skilled Worker and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker categories. Skilled workers need to have a permanent full-time job offer from a BC employer and meet relevant work experience and education requirements. Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker applicants need to have worked for at least nine months in the tourism, hospitality, retail or food processing industries, and meet language requirements.

The process of applying for a B.C. nomination varies depending on the category and the applicant. For example, applicants through the Skilled Migration EE program may complete the entire immigration process in about 12 months, while other categories may take longer.

After obtaining a B.C. nomination, the applicant needs to submit an application for permanent residence to the Federal Immigration Service and go through the appropriate vetting process. Once the application is approved, the applicant and his/her family members will become permanent residents of Canada and enjoy the benefits and rights of the country.
