Project Description

Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS), is a talent admission scheme in Hong Kong, which was announced by the Hong Kong SAR Government on 23 February 2006 and formally commenced operation with the objective of attracting high-calibre technical talents and talents in various industries to settle in Hong Kong in order to enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness. The principle of selection focuses on whether the applicant's professional achievements are essential to the economic development of the Hong Kong community.

 

General Points Test

Method 1: Achievement-based Points Test

  • The applicant has received an award of exceptional achievement (e.g. Olympic medals, Nobel prize, national/international awards); or
  • The applicant can show that his/her work has been acknowledged by his/her peers or has contributed significantly to the development of his/her field (e.g. lifetime achievement award from industry).
  • The score is either full or zero.

 

Method 2:General Points Test

  • The maximum score is 225 and the pass mark is 80.
  • Scoring items include: age, academic or professional qualifications, language skills, work experience, talent list, family background

Application Requirements

  1. The principal applicant has reached the age of 18
  2. Good academic qualifications and financial capability
  3. Good command of written and spoken Chinese or English (spoken Chinese means Putonghua or Cantonese)
  4. Satisfy the points requirement of one of the two scoring systems
  5. This programme is not applicable to the following nationals: Afghanistan, Cuba, Laos, Korea, Nepal and Vietnam.

 

Application Process
